Why do you keep saying it’s non overdrive? Because the transmission didn’t get a electronic locking torque converter in 2002 yet? The transmission ratio in 4th gear is still an overdrive, by definition.

What does this even mean?  It doesn’t have an overdriven top gear ratio? 

More power, better ride, better interior transformation. Cheaper interior materials, worse visibility, NOTABLY worse steering feel (ie zero) and worse handling (high center of gravity). How someone who owned both cars can miss the last two points in particular is beyond me!

The Fit is a crappy highway car, and notably uncomfortable in terms of thigh support/pedal placement for taller drivers, the first two generations anyways.  It’s a great urban runabout no doubt, but hardly the ideal all arounder some people on here insist that it is.  I agree, it’s perfectly mediocre in the twisties…

The Fiesta handles at least as well as the Fit, and rides better and is notably more refined overall.  But yes it gives up a lot in interior room.

Most normal American families would be vastly happier in a minivan than a tinny Fit. They’re great urban/suburban runabouts, but miserable highway cars. Noisy, the manuals sit at like 4k on the highway, not much suspension compliance, blown around in crosswinds, etc. Grew up driving an ‘07 Fit, when family car…
