We should invest far more in keeping this wasted out Earth habitable for the grandchildren than in getting them out of it. The closest thing we know of to be a potentially habitable planet is Proxima Centauri b, close-orbiting a crappy red dwarf star. With the best rocket technology available right now, we could

Yea we actually bought a separate set of wheels and put Hoosiers on it. Night and day difference. They take a beating more and have much less fall off, even in the heat of the summer. But they do still fall off. I have resigned myself to the fastest lap of the day will be during my 9 AM session, early in it. If I make

991.1 GT3RS. I think the problem is the speed and grip they are capable of will generate heat above their optimal temp range. Obviously you could go slower and/or have a less aggressive setup, but then again we aren’t here to go slow

America is a nation divided along many lines these days, but I believe we can all come together as one and agree, regardless of race, political leanings, age, or gender, that these new BMW designs are awful. This could be what saves the country from falling apart.

It is a little weird. I suppose Mercedes is looking to tighten their belts a bit, probably thinking they can win in 2021 with Bottas and Russell, Hulk, a bag of potatoes, etc if they must.

Ahhh, that’s a very smart solution with the splitter situation. I’ve been fantasizing about owning an M2 CS a bit recently with all of its press and its fancy adjustable suspension (I have an M2 comp) but every time i see that beautiful carbon fiber splitter i cringe. I’ve got enough to worry about down there with

Why make a $10k downpayment when you can borrow money at <2%?

Honestly, also potentially front splitter/pedestrian protection. In the US, we can have MASSIVE front splitters from the dealer while the EU can’t have almost any (from dealer). It doesn’t look that massive, but the corners could be out of compliance for the EU?

Pedestrian safety?

You didn’t take a plane because?

True, Nashville is relatively cheap, but the college town where I live is significantly cheaper, both cost of living, tax rate, and home prices. And yes, it’s all how you value one’s time. And non-profit museum jobs are typically low-paying and hard-to-find. It’s a labor of love, and it works for my family.

I’m actually surprised at the cost. It seems pretty extreme to me, at only about half of what is costs to cross the Mont-Blanc tunnel for instance, which is much longer and one of only two practical ways of crossing the Alps between Italy and France - not something you’d do daily, I expect.

Nashville isn’t “cheap”... A $200k house an hour outside the city will easily go for >$600k in a decent NV neighborhood. That’s a big mortgage if someone is making $80k a year (or even two people making $80k with the parents making the down payment).

Yah I really doubt anyone in all of Denmark makes less than 16 an hour so this just makes sense.

$24/day if you have to commute this way, but you have an extra 90 minutes spent not commuting.  I’d say it’s worth it.

And used, with someone else’s farts in the seats, choices of colors, choices of options, and unknown levels of pre-hooning. And not a comparable car anyway. You could also just buy a used Golf R for half the MSRP of the new one, which would at least be mostly the same thing. MK8 is evolutionary, not revolutionary.

Passenger vehicle that will withstand an impact with a moose:

I mean on the one hand it’s definitely an odd choice, but on the other hand 911s handle extremely well so it doesn’t seem to have been holding them back. Empirically, the MacPherson strut has been accomplishing the desired objective just fine.

Actually, the “you didn’t care” part is an assumption on your part; some people do care. After the crash at Flight 191 at O’Hare, I never flew on a DC-10 again. Yes, the direct cause of the crash was improper maintenance, and if you look at the Wikipedia on it, it will happily tell you that airlines were removing the

Have you ever driven on European motorways?
