$0. Fired for cause. A kid died under his watch, what more “cause” could you ever possibly need?

Yes, sorry. By law, Georgia residents must register their cars with the state of Georgia within 30 days.

The law is that Georgia residents must register vehicles within 30 days of purchase, regardless of whether those vehicles are assigned to an out-of-state LLC. So driving the car into Tennessee every month does nothing to fix that requirement.

Actually not that expensive, but people have no idea what they’re doing and go the illegal Montana route instead.

Georgia requires Georgia residents to register their car in 30 days. So even if the car is in the name of an out-of-state LLC, you still have to register it in GA. Hence the crackdown.

It’s not a sales tax. I think there would be less dodging if it was, since it could be itemized on your income taxes. As it is, it’s a ad valorem tax, which is not deductible.

You wrote all of that, but it isn’t legal.

Technically, you are supposed to remit sales tax on that kind of stuff. No one does since it’s impossible to enforce a lot of the time (no bill of sale, etc).

All you actually said in this post is that Obama is correct. He wasn’t commenting on the source of apathy or indifference, but that apathy is the primary enemy.

Because Republicans haven’t been fiscally conservative since the 1960s. Neo-conservativism means you cut taxes for the wealthy, but increase government spending and restrict free trade.

Tariffs don’t allow US steel companies to be “more able to compete with foreign steel companies”, it simply allows them to charge more money for the same steel. They didn’t increase production at all, because it is very, very expensive to build new steel mills. Instead, they increased prices. So, no new jobs in the ste

No. Supply is too restricted for this to occur. The total output of US steel manufacturers <<< demand for steel. Additionally, the steel industry has extreme barriers to entry (steel mills cost hundreds of millions of dollars to build), so new entrants undercutting current price levels will not happen.

You could probably purchase a couple of top level racing teams for that amount of money. Certainly you could afford to buy an F3 team, an F2 team, and an F1 team and race your way up the ladder until you’re an F1 driver. Would be a fun way to blow a couple hundred million.

Counterpoint - a lot of $60k-100k cars have minimal/no depreciation if you are a savvy buyer. So a long loan term isn’t a big deal. Plus, you could get hit by a bus tomorrow. Life is too short to drive boring cars (if that’s your passion).

At least 3 dozen on the usual websites (more if you have dealer auction access) - enough that you can find one if you live in a major city.

Not true, there are lots of C6 Z06 under $30k.

I was going to say that there was no way that the Republicans would have delayed hearings for 2+ years and left the court with only 8 justices, but then I remembered who I was talking about.

You’re not kidding. We didn’t pay that much out of pocket for our wedding (wife’s mom/dad and my parents were all extremely generous), but it was a bit sickening after doing a mental tally post-wedding. Basically the equivalent of a year’s salary for me (or a down payment on a really nice house) for a 3 day weekend.

It’s not as bad if the couple is aware that they are being a pain in the ass, I think.
