Damn, you beat me to it. Boost on a high compression engine. Without the methanol/water mixture it had bad detonation. Which is a really bad thing especially on boosted engines.
Oldsmobile F85 Jetfire - turbo with methanol/water injection in 1962.
I got a free can at an event during power tour at the Roush-Yates facility near Charlotte. Though they weren’t handing it out at the SST races at the Detroit GP last year either. The website is mostly misses on informing you where to buy it. Most places I’ve stopped at looking for Speed because Speed’s site said they…
I do love Speed Octane. I wish he had some better distribution channels for it but ordering cases of it works pretty well anyway.
I can’t believe they don’t already have one of those. I even checked google images, nothing.
NASCAR was already investigating the Busch series incident with the 62. A second incident from RCR in such a short period of time when no other team is having issues seems like the RCR fire investigation will get a lot more attention now.
There is an odd satisfaction to being credited with an AOTD answer.
Which really illustrates why when it came out my computer that was a couple years old struggled so hard to run it with very many of the graphical features on or turned up to their full beauty.
I had no idea that John Henry was involved with that. His connection to Roush’s NASCAR team is very obvious, I didn’t know he had his hands in other racing related things.
It’s a shame that Sierra Papyrus lost that. The first game was ok and the best available at the time and by NASCAR 4 and the seasonal iteration livery update games that it became they have made a game that was far, far ahead of its time.
YES! This, this, this. I almost bought an arcade cabinet of this a couple years ago. I really should have just pulled the trigger. Some day I will own one.
Daytona USA, despite not having the Daytona track in it at all, is still in many arcades because it is still awesome.
GPL could really be expanded to include any of the Sierra Papyrus games that were built on that same physics engine. The NASCAR 4 game and the seasonal iterations that followed are still outstanding and someone can and will correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t iRacing based on that same stuff?
Even through that’s what they did with Cobra Rs, an insane number of Cobra Rs exist taht still have all the plastic on everything. They get collected no matter what you do. Hopefully the lack of value increase of Cobra Rs makes people think twice about not driving these.
Performance Friction has a brake kit for school buses. It gives them a pretty beefy looking caliper. A new bucket list item is to get an old school bus, the brake kit with some 01 compound pads and hit a track day.
I need to get the roof rails just for the ability to strap crap to the roof and take pics doing burnouts. Although I guess they just strapped it to the roof without the rails. It wasn’t their car through either, I’m assuming.
I’m not sure about a normal F150 but a 2nd gen Lightning is certainly a lot of fun. The brakes feel all of the weight as the stack of cracked rotors I created is evidence of. A new rotor would make it through a track day but the next heat cycle after that always killed it.
Yes, a brown (Mocha Steel Metallic) V wagon was a thing for 2014. Hopefully someone ordered one in this color as a manual. If they also elected no sun roof there’s probably a real good chance it’s a one of one car. Although there’s a solid chance that most non black manual V wagons are one of one cars given the number…
I love all 4400 lbs of my CTS-V wagon on track. It behaves quite well. Through esses I’ve had people that ran behind me comment on how well the car seemed to change direction. It puts the power down well with little throttle modulation which, also leaves you a little throttle to help rotate the rear if necessary, or…
