Why the F is someone making $49,000 a year buying a $35,000 car???

Think of how dumb the average person is... Half the people are dumber than that.
I’m glad NY state troopers aren’t assholes. I went out during the blizzard yesterday. Trooper was traveling in between a lane going like 40. He saw me coming up quick moved over, I got along side him, waved, he waved back, and I nailed it, going back to 75.
Except my Ford raptor. Best purchase ever for moving shit fast.
If you’re going to be commuting into NYC from Jersey, you’re fucked. Seriously.
BTW word of advice, subscribe to Design Engineering or any number of engineering magazines (they’re free). Tons of gears nowadays being made of plastic. The tensioner and guide for timing belts, you know, the one running next to a burning hot engine, bathed in motor oil, with a chain scraping against it nonstop for…
Oh you’re so right. I seriously have no idea what I’m doing.
No, THIS is the angriest engine you’ve heard in a while.
What do you think the maximum temperature is? Because you seem to think that the oil may get too hot for plastics. Do you also think it’s inappropriate to put plastic components inside, say, an oil filter? THE very item that hot boiling oil goes through?
This is how it works. Factory gets paid to ship cars. The more output the better. If they ship 10000 cars and 500 have an error, they still shipped 10000 cars. The 500 become a customer service issue. If QA/QC isn’t independently controlled, they’re not gonna be allowed to slow production for anything less than a…
Nothing wrong with that. I’ve designed plastic parts that could survive in an oven maxed out and it would be just fine. The reason why it warped was probably poor material selection and design.
Dude, u should be her best friend!
Well this is stupid... where am I supposed to put my hitch?
You know who else in 08 had a getrag dual clutch transmission that is the beans? Mitsubishi! 😁
Uh. Fly wheel? What?
You can also make it hinge and actuate up and out of the way. That’ll account for vertical forces. The problem with the bars is when the bus is articulating. I guess there could be a situation where it backs straight up into like a foot tall curb. But every truck has that problem now anyway.
From an engineering perspective it’s pretty easy. Just have it swing away from the bus, towards the back. And the support for the pivot is in the middle so it either folds up and away from the bus when being pushed up from the ground, or it cams and locks into a vertical position even harder when hit. Believe me it’s…
If the engineer wasn’t a moron, they would design it so that it tilted away from the bus. So it can fold up easily but cam into place even harder when hit from behind.
Yeah something’s weird. I’m not hearing any tires squealing. Even the Zonda R on slicks managed to get tire squeal on fast corners. I only heard the occasional chirp. What kind of magical unicorn tires are on that thing??
