Yeah, but then the shoulders are way too big....

I suspect the waist alteration affected that area more than was expected.

I find the biggest issue with Men’s t-shirts are the lack of boob space when the shoulders fit. Your post-tailoring photo shows this quite well.

You can also buy your frames online and then just have the lenses installed at your optometrist. I go this route because I have a tricky prescription, but it might be good for first-time glasses wearers as well.
