I imagine given the only alternative positions would be either “we aren’t working on the problem and won’t fix it, or “we weren’t going to bother with this issue but now that it has widespread attention we have to,” whether it’s true or not it’s the only position available to them without losing face.

Divinity Original 2 has a lot of the good stuff from the heyday but modern amenities if you haven’t tried it (i.e. if you’re cool with like, Dragon Age good to go), or if you like weird/unique settings (Twin Peaks-inspired, steampunkish magical realist existential-cynical noir) Disco Elysium.

The Afghan government and its forces are so corrupt and falling apart it makes the final days of the South Vietnamese government and the ARVN look fundamentally world-class by comparison.

Apologies, but like they said, I’m Australian, so this isn’t (really) my war.

For all the trouble Kleric went through, you’d have to imagine that this chest, in particular, must have contained a once-in-a-lifetime prize, right?

Square Enix hasn’t announced a release date nor a price for the “remasters.” It’s further unclear whether or not existing Steam owners of Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy VI will receive free or discounted copies of the new releases.

How was 2016 already five years ago, damn. Riley was awesome and will be missed!

There’s a pressure and momentum in 4 and 5 from the calendar, sure, but the limited nature of time, how it constrains and determines the decisions we can make, and the specter of certain mortality there conditioning everything that went before at

The other one is Nier Automata, because realistically, I will probably never finish it—not just for the reasons I outlined previously [short version: I’ve started it on four separate occasions!], but also because it’s become, like, a meme. For me, it’s really hard to get lost in a world where every time I see a

It’s also motivated me to start and commit to Tactics finally, which is proving mad good. Hoping to use the Shadowbringers momentum to also sit down and finally spend more than 10 hours in Nier.

I’m playing through for the first time and catching up with friends, I’ve arrived at evidently minority opinion Stormblood is cooler than Heavensward. It was enjoyable overall, don’t get me wrong, but the plot just struck me as good, but not great, high fantasy. I felt a bit oversold on that front — which is to say

I started XIV in January after having played it in 2015 (!) and bounced off after leveling two classes to level 30. It’s crazy how much smoother the experience is and refined in smart ways.
