It was removed from his wrist by the staff at the hospital prior to surgery. It was the first event of the season. AMA 250GP followed by the Daytona 200 (AMA Superbike). He always wore his watch. Nothing dubious about it. I remember going to collect his stuff and it was gone.

A friend of mine crashed at Daytona AMA 250 a few years ago. He was transported to Halifax Medical Center for a broken leg where they fixed him up but relieved him of his Rolex at the same time.

If you put enough effort (money & engineering) you could probably get a lot of things to go faster than the GT3. Mr. Olsen obviously has done that exact thing. And when the GT3RS arrives.. I imagine he could add MOAR POWA!!! More brakes, more lightness, etc. and be able to do it all over again.

The safety locks that keep the arms from moving horizontally when raised weren't engaged. You can see the arms swing away.
