Whew, boy! One thing I’ve learned from the internet is how much white people hate to be called racist. Boy, y’all (I’m assuming you’re white, Sean Brody) really hate that shit, huh? Your response to this well-written commentary is “stop making me feel racist and maybe then I’d tell you why I decided to vote for the

God, I hope this is one of the lessons learned from all of this. Not just the press, but the people who ate that stuff up with a fork and spoon, then regurgitated it everywhere they could.

Amen. Leave New York for a few fucking minutes and don’t look at us folks who live between the coasts like sad zoo animals living in a relentless hell where we can’t go see Hamilton on a given Wednesday night or eat at the world’s greatest Korean German fusion farm to table restaurant. That would be a good start.

I mean, it’s a problem in that they lack diversity but it’s also a problem that the last few decades of economic development has turned their region into a fucking hell hole (ie. Applebee’s is what passes for a hot spot, small businesses and well paying jobs are long gone, etc etc).

No one told pollsters or newspeople they were voting Trump because to do so was to be deemed a racist.
The culture had decided this was the case.

I totally agree that we need more diversity in media, and I totally agree that diversity should mean more than race and gender.

But I disagree about the misguidedness of ideological diversity. If you’re a news organization who wants to inform the entire electorate, your newsroom can’t be 100% left of the political

Good to see you hide behind the terms of a joke to cover the racism. The POC I know wouldn’t find your pathetic excuse for a sense of humor to be funny. You making a shitty joke in a comments section is a far cry from a contextual joke that’s written in a book.

I have been thoroughly enjoying it. I’m not in favor of Trump, but there’s something weirdly satisfying about watching people flip the fuck out over what will probably be an ineffective and unproductive 4 year Presidency.

Do you think it’s reasonable to criticize one person for saying this?

For Christ’s sake it was a joke. A joke implying the day after election day every election half of the population thinks the world is coming to an end. It isn’t coming to and end Trump is too stupid to memorize the launch codes.

Well if you don’t know you shouldn’t have posted it, but for the sake of making someone aware: you just generalized all white people as having the same opinion, and that opinion is equivalent to being on medication. Thus clarifying all white people’s opinions as being dumb/bad. Imagine writing this and changing

Trump got 60 million votes. Romney got 60 million votes. McCain got 60 million votes.

Now explain how this joke you just made isn’t racist

The idea that 60M people voted for Trump because they’re “racists” is exactly the type of self-righteous thinking that lead to Clinton getting demolished. Trump won because the establishment has utterly failed the majority of this country - they voted for him despite his flaws, not because of them.

This should be the headline after every election. It doesn’t matter one bit who wins or loses.

No, fuck you. Bc of that, Donald won.

I get everyone is bummed and this Biden gif is funny, be he is literally shitting on 60M voters. The same thing that Hillary basically did to the largest voting block in the country. It doesn’t matter if you think some of them are horrible people, you NEED their vote. This is the perfect gif to explain the Dems defeat.

Take a walk through Jezebel while you’re at it.

I am willing to let Trump win if we shutdown Twitter / Facebook / Instagram for good.

Why are people so goddamned angry? I mean, really. Stop for a second before you say shit like this and ask yourself, “Does MY day to day life change based on who is President?”
