I'm not a huge fan of Jon Lasseter, but his track record since he and the other Apple/Pixar boys took over Disney is pretty good. I agree that the marketing APPEARS to be giving too much of the movies plot away, but I got a sneaking suspicion that there's plenty of big stuff no one knows about.

Although it's presented in fiction form. I think that Kim Stanley Robinsons Mars Trilogy puts forth a viable (if not expensive and daunting) method of colonizing mars. It actually runs parallel in some ways to what Zubrin proposes.

@bookwench: Exactly! I said something very similar to my wife the first time we saw the movie.

@colineff: Yeah pretty much. I find myself wanting to fast forward through a bunch of the scenes. Meanwhile, she's over in her spot eating it up like candy.

My wife is an avowed genre hater. I had to pull out all the stops to get her to watch the pilot on Halloween, but she loves this show.

So I guess Nolan is trying to take Cameron's place atop the "Smartest Asshole in the Room" Pyramid.
