real time path tracing isnt going to be a reality in gaming for sometime. It requires a lot of processing and samples to clean up as you probably know. I work with Arnold daily and love it btw. One day path tracers may be the norm in games, but until we can spit out 120 fps realtime at 2560x1600, i doubt we will.

I like Windows 8 a lot. The gui is not horrid. I've found it to be very good. For example while rendering in softimage, I can waste time watching the Netflix App split screened, and see my render window update. Since netflix runs on gpu, no cpu is taken away from the render which demands 100% cpu. Its quite nice…
