My take aways

I like a lot of long, slow arthouse movies. JD is so aggressively unfriendly and borderline unwatchable for casuals that calling it the best movie of all time suggests a pretty clear philosophical position.  And that position is that film’s highest goal is to be almost exclusively appealing to critics and wannabes.

There’s a widely-held view that family size is absolutely off-limits for judgment, that there’s no limit to the number of kids a parent can love and care for, and that anyone who questions such choices is a monster.

I was against these types of shows from the beginning.

That show - and two of its contemporaries - epitomize the evils of reality TV.

When Jon & Kate first started, it really focused on how this family dealt with eight kids, six the same age. You could legitimately take tips from that show.

I like this trailer a lot better. Chris Pratt doesn’t sound as bad here. He just sounds like Chris Pratt. Which is an average joe. To this day, one of the very best horror films - and very much a “real movie.” Wonderful to see Rose still giving interviews about it.

It’s a mark of how effective that film was that even though I know (hope?) it was complete fiction, there’s no way I’m saying even once let alone five times you know what into a mirror.

The real stars of Marvel movies are the VFX artists. 98% of any Marvel movie is CGI, and a good percentage of the character’s action performance are animated, on top it. I will give the actors credit for being able to live on steamed chicken and broccoli for months. That would be rough.

Chris Evans was a working actor, full stop. 

I get it if you’re defending a writer, a director, an actor, etc.

As a person who loved and obsessed about Bayonetta I think this ending is absolutely perfect given the circumstances of everything that happened.
