No Sigourney Weaver is an unbelievably massive oversight. The Alien franchise, Ghostbusters, Cabin in the Woods, and in one of her first roles, she played Woody Allen’s date. Absolutely chilling.

What’s funny is his Galaxy Quest character felt the same way about that role as Rickman seemed to about Snape.

Yeah, I mean, Daniel Radcliffe went on to really stretch and improve, and now he’s one of our more interesting stars...but any accomplished actor at Rickman’s level would have seen this gig as daycare back then.

Snape would have been an unbearable character with almost any other actor in the role

I remember thinking that the twist in the original was so obvious that the filmmakers were deliberately telegraphing in order to do a misdirect. The hints were so obvious and consistent that we were going “well clearly they won’t do that”.

At this point the dude should lean in to the whole thing and start hawking a line of vibrating anal beads.
