Yeah, the Suspiria love confounds me. Visually, it’s beautiful. I love the score, too. But the story is a mess, along with the acting, and the film also loves its fair share of cheap moments (the reveal at the end with the “killer”). It’s an example of the rare type of film that gets by on visuals and music alone (I’m

“Better” is a weird way to describe the extended cut. It’s more “watchable,” but it’s not exactly superior to the theatrical cut. It actually reveals even more problems with their plotting and character motivations.

The extended cut of the film is actually worse. For all the pacing and plot gaps it fixes it ends up introducing nonsensical plot lines and confusing character motivations. If want something that’s more “watchable” than it’s technically better than the theatrical cut, but it just ends up revealing how poor the script

Modern society is obsessed with tearing people down for true or falsely perceived errors. It’s sick. A bunch of fucking losers would be better working on themselves rather than dragging the rest of us down to their pathetic state.

I can understand how people view it as predatory, creepy, and irresponsible on Allen’s part. She was 18 and he was an older, established, and very powerful man - but I don’t understand how any accusation from her or his obvious interest in younger women relates to child sexual abuse. Dylan Farrow was seven when the

Hint: it’s because there is only one.

I liked Blue Jasmine until I watched Kazan’s A Streetcar Named Desire. Jasmine just doesn’t do anything different or even remotely as good as that film. Plus Williams is a better writer than Allen, so...

Don’t bother, these people are delusional.

What did Hemingway accuse him of? She said he wanted to take her to Paris when she was 18, that’s it.

List them.

How is this an accusation of sexual assault?

Did you actually read the Babe.net article? They had oral sex, twice. There’s no point in the article where it’s indicated that the oral was anything but consensual. He tried (several) times to get her to have penetrative sex with him, she refused.

I stopped after Freak Show. Later, I caught some episodes of Hotel (I gave up) then watched all of Roanoke, I believe, but I really disliked it by the end. The first seasons is good, the second is great, the third is campy fun. Everything after has been torturous.

It’s a shame that this exact statement can actually be said by people who 100% mean it. Obviously you don’t...I think.

Aren’t a big portion of independent productions funded by the studios? I know lots of “independent” studios are basically owned by the big production companies.

From what I understand she was brain damaged from a car wreck that occurred when she was a young girl. She was institutionalized for quite some time, too.

Oh, I wasn’t really arguing about the quality of Lynch’s work, just the fact that Herzog is probably the biggest influence on him. He totally pulls from different films and directors, but that’s (kinda sadly) the norm for most filmmakers now.

As far as a direct influence, Herzog is way more influential at least for Lynch.

I think it’s up until the Leland reveal and then he drops out until the finale.

Did the yellowface thing even involve Lynch in the slightest? I though he left halfway through season two and only worked on the finale.
