I guess the difference is presumably the people have a deposit down with the expectation that deposit was to go toward a car at MSRP. The dealer is effectively backing out of that (presumably verbal or weakly written) agreement because they think they can get a lot more money for the car.

Indeed presumably they will only both be on sale in the North America market as I doubt Dodge will sell this in Europe, so I wonder if this is more Alfa North America and their dealers who were probably weren’t told there would be a Dodge version that are pissed off.

Only knock on the desirability is the tiptronic gearbox, however I suspect if it was a manual the price would be $30,000 more? NP all the way subject to inspection which should apply to any high end used sportscar.

The Ferrari 365P Tre Posti, with it’s central driver’s seat years before the Mclaren F1. They did make and sell two but it was really an attempt by Pininfarina to convince Enzo Ferrari the world was ready for a mid engine V12 supercar. The fact that Gianni Agnelli sent his back to have the large spoiler (seen below)

The Cx-75 used in Spectre had the supercharged Jag engine in it. I think the made around 10 so equipped for the film and associated promotional work. I have a feeling one or two might have made their way back into private hands.

Wasn’t it actually built by Pagani for Chrysler and uses a Zonda tub?

I’m going with a very specific answer here in the MG Metro my best friend had back when were both 17 (a long time ago). The Austin A series four cylinder was never the best sounding engine, but he modified the car with a loud (Janspeed I think) exhaust. If you sat in the front of the car you were deafened by a

I’ve seen a few in person, I’ve found them quite underwhelming in the flesh, like old 911's with oversized wheels and odd headlights.

Lovely car yes but very few are available and they are expensive used.  Just had a quick search on Auto Tempest and not a single one available for what I paid for the F Type.

Not sure the established definition but I take it to be a start up is a new company that has not yet brought a product to market and is relying on outside investment to keep it going until that product is openly for sale and generating sufficient revenue to generate a positive cash flow from its day to day business.

It’s because raw performance numbers only really matter on internet discussion forums. I did cross shop a used F Type with a new Z4, Supra and used Cayman. The Z4 is another BMW and I’ve had 4 of those plus the new one is not good looking. The Supra is to much crypto/ tech bro for me plus it is tight squeeze for

I brought a 2017 V6 a few months back and love it. I think you’re right though it is a car that where the feel good factor wins out over the ultimate dynamic capability of the Cayman (plus in the used market my budget got me a newer and better specced F Type than any Cayman I could find).

I had a Mk1 3.2 v6 TT. It was more mini GT than a sportscar, partially because in order to fit the V6 Audi had to raise the ride height compared with the four cylinder cars to give the bottom of the engine enough clearance, which compromised the handling. Not sure if the MK2 has the same issue, but with the mileage

The 308's tune was pretty mild especially in the US, but the same could be said of most 70's and early 80's cars. They also share the same architecture with all the later Ferrari V8's up to the 360 which gives them a lot of tuning potential and they were pretty overbuilt too. There are several companies that have

Jaguar F Type R Coupe. trunk is plenty big enough for touring this 2022 is slightly over budget but a 2021 or a 2020 SVR version would also work (I actually think the pre facelift looks better although the User interface is apparently much improved on the newer car).

Unveiled in September, deliveries starting spring next year apparently. First cars will be V12 powered and it is going to be priced closer to the Rolls Royce Cullinan than the Urus. Bentyaga and Aston DBX.

Maybe not a car but a brand - how about a range of Lancia EV’s

The Jaguar F Type might be ancient in car terms but it’s a bargain compared with this.  An AWD P450 has a starting MSRP of $87,000.

I’d love to see an F1 / Indycar double header at say Mexico. Sure Indycar would be up for it as the drivers would love to showcase themselves in front of the F1 team management. Chances of F1 agreeing to it are zero though.

NP only because someone will pay that and pretend it is a $120K newer one. Not for me though.
