Not having a proper garage stymied the last project I wanted to do myself: Rear pinion seal on a 2001 F-150. In theory, easy: pull the 4 bolts on the driveshaft, pull off the pinion nut, use a puller on the plate thingy, pry out old seal. In practice with no air tools and in my slightly sloped parking lot? I

Can she punt for a year? Stay home and try to find work locally? Rather than live in the Coronavirus cesspool that will be the dorms?

If you want to make it a white trash party as well, how about an AMC Eagle!

That was my first car! Moms old Corolla wagon! I traded it for a truck that was more my style, but it was a great car. That 4x4 was great, but wish it had loo range like the Subie back then. I’d prolly buy one if I ran across it on Craigslist.

This little bastage comes with lockers? Oh hell yes.

I asked the same question and am allergic to Subarus, so am quite pleased with my Highlander Hybrid. It’s faster than it should be and the i4wd is just enough. I think the older ones can even be had as hybrids with FWD.

Straight six in a two door? NP. Should be a lot of fun. Reminds me of the old 325.

Twenty large is getting close to used Raptor territory, or two Ford 7.3s.

Switching to V brakes on an old ten speed is a great idea and I’m not sure why I’ve never thought of it. I’m definitely tired of dicking around with the crappy cantilevers on my old Nishiki. Thanks !

My local bike garage coop thing , where people donate their old bikes and we fix em up, or people can come in and use our stands to fix them themselves, just started doing a similar thing with old frames. We can build it up as an Old Bike and get a hundred and fifty locally, or we can eBay just the frames world wide

Neutral: nope, not yet! I’m working in a tourism-related field, and we’ve got the most infected county in a rising infection state, and it’s go go go! We got masks and are limiting operations, but one of these Out of State fools is gonna infect us. Ugh.

That straight six is bombproof. With a manual? Why the heck would they even sell it? They stopped making the I6 5-speed combo cuz the dangon things never break! Nice price!

Now you’re ready for one of Mr. Regular’s car show staples: “This is my toy car. This is my real car.”

Oh hooray! The headlights look like headlights! I wish they’d gone a little more aggresive with the hybrid system having a bigger battery and more hp, but I don’t think this is too bad. I hope the electric plug-ins in the bed come in the plain-jane XL package and not just the Limited.

Scrap the newer Volvo for $100, or fire sale it on CL for $500, now you have $700-$1100. Fix Corvair, or offer to buy the old Volvo.

My dad had a slug of cool cars in his youth- Camaro RS, Firebird, couple of Jeeps, an International pickup with a Pontiac GTO drivetrain.... but he got practical after kids, and the one I get nostalgic for though is the 1978 Datsun B210 hatchback. It wasn’t anything special at all, but a lot of early memories in that

You are Aholes for not making the Mountain West and/or the Great Plains their own territory! I guess our claim for car culture is brodozer trucks, so I know we’re not winning, but still. Way to leave out the middle of the country. Rabble rabble!

Auto cross time trial next! Please?!?

Also, when I lived in Germany, there were speed cameras everywhere, but they took a picture of the front of the car, too, with your smiling face behind the wheel. I recall them being mostly by schools and actually dangerous areas where it’d be good to slow people down.

“I’m not driving, I’m traveling!”
