Ok that's a pretty backwards view. There are big cities in the midwest and small towns on the east coast. I sit bumper to bumper on a 6 lane highway on the way home from work every day.

Yes the whole south eastern border of MN from roughly St. Paul all the way down to Iowa is a common cruise road for car clubs and motorcyclists. I love it, no gripes about the 300+ mile drive down and back.

Yes once it's off the roads then you get the saltiest driving surface know to man, saltier than the salt flats.

It all is relative to where you are in MN, last year where I live we got 67" over the season. The year before that only 22. The year before that was 89".

The thing is that the snow stays from November to May in some cases. Last year it snowed on May 8th in my home town. It's so cold that those 40-50 inches do not go away.
