It's ridiculous - DCP is such a step down in quality in so many ways.

Why is it "unrealistic nonsense?" It is real and it is really happening so it is not unrealistic. And why do you consider 70mm nonsense? The image quality is stunning. I think we should be thanking Tarantino for trying to give people their money's worth.

If you want to see a real film as opposed to a glorifed DVD, it is essential.

Many cinema screens in developing countries are still 35mm (especially in Latin America) - it's the switch to digital that is too expensive for them. Many small-town theatres in North America have shut down because the studios refuse to provide 35mm prints. The switch to digital is about the studios saving money, not

Exactly, the whole switch to digital is based on economics and mobility—at the expense of quality.

Why? DCP is everywhere. I'm glad there's at least one theatre out there that is film-only.

Until Christopher Nolan's or P.T. Anderson's next film, that is.

That's pretty much what going to the movies is these days - pay way too much money and get stuck watching a glorified DVD.

No, actually.
