My super trumper farmer uncle is convinced that China will still buy our soybeans... As they hit a 10 year low price. Love him as family, but I really hope this hurts him financially, as that represents the only possibility of him learning methinks.

We actually took a family vacation there in 88 (I was in grade school). Even then Caracas was dangerous, though nothing as bad as today. But the mountains, the beaches, everthing was soooooo beautiful.... and on average the people were wonderful, happy and welcoming.

I still have so much hate for those people, and I have not lived in MA for 8 years.

Oh and as for the card getting stolen - it has happened, went thru one period where it was every month for four months in a row. But as much as I hate bank of America they have super good fraud protection. Never paid a dime, always had a new card in a few days. 

Even the food trucks I eat at all have an ipad and take cards. And even most of the farmers at the market... nyc is different, such a high density market. But you could still never use cash if you so chose. Just have to find a good chinese place that pays all their taxes...

This. My daughter is 15 months and we still enjoy eating out. Just pay some attention to her and it never gets out of hand. Be a parent. 

I never carry cash anymore, unless I am going to a show or farmers market or something like that. Day in day out, no cash, hit an ATM maybe once every other month.
