What we lost with Buell :(
What we lost with Buell :(
This very morning, same thing: donut driver was going at least 85.
And this corners WAY better.
Excellent read, thank you. Now I want to go track down and watch as many of those old fights as I can!
How can anyone look at that and not accept that there is HORRIFIC gerrymandering??
I really think fixing that is the key to fixing the rest of this $h!t.
You have it backwards. Without universal coverage people do not have regular wellness visits and go to the ER for trivial things, or things that should be managed by a GP. Source: my sister is an ER doc, sees the same uninsured, cannot pay people all the time for trivial things and they are REQUIRED BY LAW to treat…
“I was not, but I sure as shit am now....”
Yes, the 80k one was prolly more like 200k when I did the competition. Prices are down, but when you start that high...
I am not suggesting using a cheaper sensor at all... Even with that sensor we did not have the fidelity to tackle as complex a task as driving on the road. I just wanted to call out that even these super expensive versions are still much cheaper than they were 10 years ago.
I participated in the 13th annual Intelligent Ground Vehicles Competition (www.igvc.org, DARPA/TARDEC funded for college teams). Our best sensor was a cheap ass simple version of one of these, only scanning a 180 degree arc with (I think) 1 degree resolution and relatively short range... And it was still $5k, cost…
Truth. My wife worked as a navigator for a while, helping people sign up. SOOOOOO many people ended their meetings with her saying “I hate that damn Obamacare, but this ACA is pretty good!”.
They gave their engineers old Indians to ride around on for a year before starting a clean sheet design... They are doing it right, but yes, trying to do the ‘lifestyle brand’ thing as well. I have talked to some owners who love the bikes and their features... IDK, I guess we will see in 3-5 years where they are.
Yah... Indian is nice, they are doing good things, but its a luxury cruiser brand (in my eyes). I wanted a futuristic bike with loads of torque and day long ride ergonomics, huge storage, NOT A GOLDWING.... I may end up on a BMW 1600 GTL.
Yurp... I am just about at 50k, want to get at least another 50 on it... And I would love to have a hammer to play with, I bet the used market really bottoms out in a few years.
That is very true, but I should have added - I like windshields and bags (I commute, hate getting hit with $h!t on the highway, always end up carrying other stuff...).
They can be fast, and can be ridden well... but it’s rare.
So pissed they killed Victory - I was hoping it could continue as a ‘modern’ well engineered cruiser, but no dice. They are doing good stuff with Indian but I never liked the big swoopy fenders that are the core of that style.
Tis not a good bike to start on.
But that was never really the issue... I tow more shit with my minivan than my tech bro single buddy with the 4 door Tundra XSP. It’s all about needing to feel cool.
^This. And for the “I gotta tow stuff” crowd, I tow my 2700lb tractor with my minivan. Or two motorcycles. Stuff it.
