It’s insane that I did not learn of the Congolese genocide until last year, at the ripe-old-age of 23. This is thought to be the worst genocide in recorded history and it’s not taught in high schools. I took world history and we covered every continent, including Africa, extensively and still it was not brought up.

I have a friend who would always claim that angel food cake was “healthy”. I’d have to constantly correct her with “no, angel food cake is healthier than regular cake”.
