Everyone says that when they first read books 4 and 5 (especially 4). I've come to love them both. They're more political and history based than the previous books; they also delve deeper into magic. The key to enjoying them is to not hold them up to the action packed standards of the previous novels, specifically…
Lighten up, Silky Locks! Spring is coming
Thanks for the book rec; I do consider myself an introvert :)
My Godmother told my mom that she didn't like my mom when she first met her because my mom walked like "she thought she was all that". The walk is hereditary I suppose.
It is a feminist issue. I don't know a single attractive, quiet man who's been accused of being a dick because he's reserved. I thought I was over it because it'd been awhile since I heard that from someone, but given recent events, apparently I'm not.
In my personal life, I don't give a shit. But apparently, this is affecting (potential) work relationships, so I have to put up a super nice/hella talkative front from 9-5. *sigh*
okay I need to vent and I know this will rub people the wrong way, but here goes:
I didn't connect my anemia to my canker sores until a friend of mine mentioned that her sister, who's also anemic, would get them when her iron was low. It's def something you should ask your doctor about.
Are you anemic? I usually get canker sores when my iron is low. I haven't had a canker sore since I started taking my iron pills regularly.
TBH, if I have sex w/ someone on the first date, then I don't want them to call me again. Just because I know a relationship would not work out doesn't mean I'm going to pass up on hot ass.
Velveeta is a sin to any true Wisconsinite. It's gross and looks congealed. Not only is it the cheese a problem here, but also the brats and Polish, German, Italian festivals that celebrate fattening foods. Oh - and the copious amounts of beer and cream puffs everyone consumes. If my mom wasn't crunchy and I didn't…
Why are you so pressed about this? You're not a black woman and this issue has nothing to do with you. Do you really think that watching "Good Hair" makes you some kind of expert on a small part of Black culture? Who are you to judge women on what they do with their own hair?
I think my biggest problem with Good Hair is that it gave White people a false sense of understanding a complex and nuanced issue that they could never fully comprehend.
While I agree with you, telling people to watch Good Hair won't give you much credibility. That doc was awful.

Correction - Slave masters raped their slaves.
Slightly off-topic, but what really pisses me off is when people act as though Africa is a country rather than a continent and that all African people have the same culture. If I claimed that Russia and France had the same culture, people would clutch their pearls and flame me. Yet, the very same people wouldn't bat…
Why are so many people bitching about the pizza bit? I thought it was funny :(
The clearance section was full of smalls and x-smalls? I'm surprised because whenever I go shopping at any store, all clothing in a size small are either gone or there are only a few ones left.
