I can’t unsee a 2G DSM front end on this thing. Its bothersome as a previous MKIV owner.

It wasn’t doomed at all. It had a run from 1932 to 1953. Name one motor that has had as long of a run? The small block chevy is the only other contender.

We are overstating the final drive’s importance. With these new 10-speeds the difference in effective gearing on the top end is minimal, 100 RPM or so, bewteen the various final drives. I have actually seen accounts on the F150 forums of guys getting better MPG with a shorter FD, because they get up to speed quicker.

A 3.0l isn’t going to drive as nice as a 3.5 or possibly even the 2.7 ecoboost, isn’t going to tow as much as an ecoboost, and apparently isn’t that much more efficient than an ecoboost. Resale may be higher, that is to be seen. I agree with your comments on the larger 3/4 ton diesel and up, they are for work. This is

Where I’m at diesel is $3.25 a gallon and mid-grade is $2.95

This is marketing at its finest. People want MPGs, they have to pay $4k for diesel option + $8k for the trim that allows diesel. The extra MPG over the 2.7 twin turbo Ecoboost motor will never be justified. 2.7 makes plenty of power too.

First gen (circa ~2000) Tundra Crew Cab with the 3.4L V6, cheaper than a comparable Tacoma, similar fuel economy, dead nuts reliable, and actually has rear seat room.

But it’s an appreciating asset right?.... I mean, 30 years is ok for homes.

and a GoBro mount on the dash?

Just a dusting of snow last night, already melted. Needles is a cold SOB in the spring at night though, pack in a WARM tent and sleeping bag if hiking in.

Maybe I’m strange, but I wash my hands first because I know what my dick has touched, but I have no idea what was on everything my hands touched.

They could switch the clutch slave cylinder to a solenoid device, making it electronic instead of hydraulic, and the solenoid could be tied into said emergecy system which watches the gear you are in and knows at what MPH to disengage to prevent stalling. It won’t engine brake as well as a CVT could theoretically but

I know it probably doesn’t matter, but I took ten minutes to write a letter to Toyota urging them to offer a standard.

Still don’t understand why they can’t just take the LC500 chassis, lightweight it, throw a manual transmission on it, and Supra! Its exactly what they did with the SC300/400 in the 90s, development work was already done, and it would hit the nail on the head.

Its decent, but not timeless. I think they really missed the mark not including the iconic A80 Supra taillight design element with four LEDs laid flat. They also missed the design element of the side air duct for the rear brakes that the MKIV had. Those are two major items that scream Supra to me.

CP. Would be NP if factory paint, but the repaint ruins any collection value in my opinion. Mileage isn’t low enough for any collection, and with an iffy speedo who knows if the mileage is accurate.

Buy some Dickies coveralls, $25 on Amazon. I have a few sets and just put them over my clothes. Problem solved. I wash them with the car cleaning towels.

Man is fucking awesome. Love the Zanardi NSXs as well!
