Uwe, what do you think of this car? Would you ever own, drive, or hoon one?
Uwe, what do you think of this car? Would you ever own, drive, or hoon one?
I had an interesting time buying my first car. I knew what I wanted (2nd gen Trans am) but only had 3k to spend. Every car I looked at was trashed. After looking for a couple years eventually I got desperate so I had my dad print out all the 2nd gen listings in a 300 mile radius. I sorted them based on different…
Crazy bright yellow orange. The color of a tangerine.
1946 International K1, family owned since new, 100% original (except more safe wheels and tires). My great great grandfather bought it brand new in 1946 as army surplus for use as a farm truck. There's a bunch more to the story but I need to fact check it with the grandparents.
These wheels are amazing.
Thanks, I'll try.
I'll try once my decals are on, my engine bay is cleaned up, and I find a place to photograph it. It's not a fancy or rare car by any means so I wouldn't expect much to come of it.
And submit what? My T/A?
Ill shoot you am email later. Who doesn't love an old international?
Hell yes I would but I live in the Midwest which isn't cool enough for any of the writers.
Haha! Reader's rides not reader rides.
But we don't have to report on uncontainable classic euro cars either :D
oh boy do I have an awesome truck story for you spanning many generations...
Okay, it's a feature of Petrolicious that I really liked.
You are doing a fine job Matt! I'm loving all the interviews and coverage on new cars in all brackets of the market. I'd love to see some more coverage on older cars and classics. Maybe even a readers rides thing once or twice a week where someone submits a few photos and their (generally awesome) story about them and…
Arc welder and cheap steel to the rescue!
Buy it for $200 or less. Power wash it, remove all the wiring and electrics. Wire up just enough stuff to get an engine running and legal. Those engines are stupid simple. Get it running (or drop a small block in), and drive it as is as long as the frame has some structural integrity.
I love it. The front splitter looks pure evil.
Now that's an awesome choice! Maybe drop a bus body over a NASCAR frame...
Hi Kyle, quick question I ask all guests on Jalopnik. What are yur impressions on a car like this? Would you own/drive/hoon one? Thanks!
