And I think we all remember how that went.

No one has employed the Triple Narwhal gambit since Alexander Alekhine’s legendary self-inflicted goring in a match against José Raúl Capablanca at the 1907 Reykjavik Open.

Dad?

Because, like the rest of America, he hates Tom Brady.

I loathe running. The pain in the lungs, sore knees, sore feet, blisters. I’d rather spend two or three hours lifting heavy things and putting them back down. But I absolutely love reading stories about long-distance runners and the sport of running. This is one of the best I’ve read here.

I thought it was by various shitstains to argue that anti-”white” racism is a thing

This. This right here is why I never considered being a teacher. I’d be meeting half the damn school by the bike rack.

Esther this is gold.

Esther, thank you for writing going after an interesting and unique angle in a race that I thought had been fully emptied out of them.

So true, many school curricula are actively trying to erase the uncomfortable history of America, but this exacerbates the problems ... it's both lazy and sad.

This. This. This.  I literally didn’t learn about minstrels until college.  However, I dated a girl whose dad had a bathroom in their house decorated in minstrel style black people and even without any kind of background knowledge at the time, I still knew it was not okay.  Sometimes it just takes some common sense.

Somewhere, Roger Godell is gnashing his teeth at this fun the players are having.

This is by design in some areas of the country. In other areas it is a lack of influence by black educators and a matter of not enough time or motivation to do the research themselves. My father ran multiple school districts in his career and I remember him commenting how hard it was to get educators educated about

“I thought taunting before you cross the goal line negated a score,” Herman said. “I’ve got to brush up on my rules and get some questions answered.”

No way he lasts seven minutes

To expand on your theme. “I tried on Peterman” is an anagram for “predetermination”

He looks like what I used to daydream when watching my son’s third grade tackle football team. Man, I would wreck those kids.

Yeah the rule is obviously “Don’t hold the door open for people you don’t know” and not “Physically deny entry to anyone even if they have a fob.”

Amazingly enough, the only player I think they’ll genuinely miss is Javale. Nick Young, Pat McCaw, and Omri Casspi were net negatives while David West aged out pretty hard during the year. Otherwise, they didn’t really lose anyone they couldn’t afford to.
