I just picked up a nice WD21 this weekend for $1700, or 3.8% of the current 4WD model’s MSRP. The 2020 model isn’t 26 times better, in fact my wheels are 26 times better than the entire 2020 model. Change my mind

Is the writer aware of Philadelphia?

I am looking for a new (or used) commuter car. I want something that is cheap ($10-15k), relatively fast (0-60 under 6 sec), prefer manual transmission, prefer RWD, needs to get about 20mpg. Oh, yeah... needs to fit 5. I’ve got three kids (no more car seats, thankfully).

I don’t drive to Moab to cover EJS, it’s just an arbitrary deadline I choose (and also, it’s when my Jeep friends are out there). And since EJS ended on Sunday, I made it in time! (But barely!)

Simply, it’s a challenge.

It appeals to the engineer-y/problem solve-y side of my brain. Here’s a vehicle that—if we’re honest—was destined for the junkyard. It had a bad frame, a cracked engine, a horrible suspension, a bad ignition system...the list goes on.

Understanding these problems, laying out a plan to solve
