I’m a lowly grey so this probably won’t be seen, but I totally had the same reaction. As someone still struggling with coke abuse, a picture of a young woman with straw in hand poised to inhale a rail off a silver platter is WAY triggering. And yes, it agree that it’s a glamorized portrayal.

Do you know how hard it is to spend a third of your life in an environment that hostile? I wouldn’t call it short sightedness, I’d call it exhaustion. I have a friend who works at planned parenthood and that was tiring even under the Obama administration.

Irony here is that last night my mom and I were discussing the fact that if you were even suspected of having Russian sympathies, the FBI was all over you and now Trump is so buddy buddy with Putin that we know Russia interfered with the election and Congress is only sort of concerned.

I know a lot of government workers are feeling torn between just leaving because “Fuck this guy” and staying because “Fuck this guy.” I hope they all stay and make shit as difficult as possible and fight the good fight.

Now now, it’s only McCarthyist when you direct it at Russia. Against neoliberals it’s just good business. /s

It is extremely illegal, but the GOP is going to have the entirety of the federal govt under their control. They could easily just make what is illegal, legal or just ignore it since they sure as shit aren’t going to punish themselves. They could just wave it off as a RIF and that would probably be the end of it.

Hopefully this is a sign of things to come. Government workers should stonewall and delay this maniac’s regime at all points possible.
