It's enormous, rock solid, and black as night...

...I feel I might've crossed a line there somewhere

Orrrrr Capcom gets off of Nintendo's Kool-Aid and starts releasing Monster Hunter on all of Sony's systems again :)

...Seriously...I've been in a huge MH mood and I refuse to buy a Wii U just for it :/

No I sort of agree with you on that point. CoD does have a unique feel to it and really why fix what isn't broken. However I don't see any really huge new features in this one that make me want to buy it. For instance, the ability to record and upload replays that Black Ops came out with was HUGE for me.

I really feel like it should've been this year. First impressions are everything, and with the consoles launching this year they should've brought their A game and blown us away. Now I'm left with the feeling that this is all they have to offer for the next few years and it really is not impressive at all :/

The only thing I can say I liked from it was the new game mode "Crank" other than that nothing really there that made me want to buy it. The graphics (and yes I know graphics aren't everything) were the biggest let down to me.

I'm honestly not sure how to respond to this...

It really seems as though Microsoft has taken the old saying One Step Forward, Two Steps Back and have gone and made it their mission statement for their games division.

That was right around the same time 3rd parties had a glimmer of hope in the Wii U being a profitable console right?

Really? You look at this car and the thing you find gawd-awful ugly is the steering wheel, did you see the exterior..more notably the rear?

I want to reply to this, but I feel like I might be biased.

I had no idea that propane cylinders actually acted like rockets in situations like this. I always thought that was some silly video game/movie exaggeration...my day has improved greatly!

I can't really fault the consumers on this one (as much as I'd like to). Nintendo's install base over the console generations has slowly gone from hardcore gamers to casual, and then when the Wii hit it went head first into casual. Casual gamers do not read up on gaming news and only really get updates via

Yeah I know they have been favoring Nintendo as of late, but its Capcom and money is the name of the game so I have no doubt they will bring console MH's to other platforms if they perform better than Wii U. Also there was rumor that the MMO was coming overseas or something...just rumor though :(

Well my first impression was that this was painful haha.

I'm looking for numbers, and with concerns to RAM memory alone, the Wii-U is severely gimped. Saying "large" doesn't mean a thing because the term is purely subjective.

I expect Nintendo (and any Developer/Publisher for that matter) to keep an online service going as long as there is enough interest in it and to only announce a shut off date once said interest is gone. The fact they have already dated the service is bizarre to me.

Wait...so this is just a lobby system basically, and they already have a shut off date planned...wow.

Also on a side note, this was the first Nintendo Direct I watched (most of, clearly missed this part) and I have to ask, are they always this stale? Iwata is completely dry and a horrible presenter in my honest opinion

I bought a Wii and played it on less then 10 different occasions...I have not made the same mistake on Wii U, as much as I want to play a new Monster Hunter I will wait till they release a new one on PS4 of Vita (or play the MMO on my PC that is using the Cry Engine :D ).

I'm in the same boat actually. I remember defending my N64 to the death while all my friends got PlayStations and Ocarina of Time still makes me all warm and fuzzy inside when I think about the first time I played it. Ever since then they've lost their way to me.

Because Vita and Smartglass don't exist :P
