If they just changed it to "and I'm gonna be the fastest man alive" I think it would actually fix more than just each episode's opening.

Sure. But I'm not talking about manipulation through the story itself. I'm talking about how some of the makers of the show manipulated some of their audience, seemingly targeting the LGBT community, by contacting them directly IRL (i.e. outside of the story of The 100).

I'd say this season deserves an awful mood. So many "really?!" moments in this season. In fact, it doesn't even deserve "really?!", it deserves "eh?".
Sometimes I think the A.V. Club needs to make sure everyone is on the same page they are, even though we've all finished the book, seen the movie and blogged about it ages ago.
