Some anime has characters speak different languages as part of the original Japanese audio. Intent varies from show to show.

I recognise that dubs can have their own artistic value and appeal. But while I can't understand the Japanese language, the original voice acting is the definitive version. So I'd rather hear that and make sense of the written translations (which, I'll admit, can be pretty poor at times) than compromise the original…
