Facetime only works via Wifi. Ergo, there is no reason at all that is should would or could take up your calling minutes.

I am a big big fan of this and can't see a downside.

The internet is a two way medium, much like telephones and cb radios. The FCC shouldn't be able to censor any form of two way communication. That is the essence of free speech.
