The impact on representation is not relevant to how interesting a role is. A role is interesting dependent on its content. Non-standard representation can be part of that content, but certainly not enough to declare that a counter-factual role would be more interesting than an actual role of unknown content.

If you need any more evidence that this is an authoritarian kleptocracy, BoA and Delta pulling their sponsorship merely because a Trump ally suggested he was being referenced in an adaptation of Julias Ceasar should do it.

Everyone understood the point you were making.

Why would it? How can you tell that her being MJ would be intrinsically more interesting than her being the daughter of a notable supervillain?

More riskier material means more material that gets cancelled. Sense8 isn't the conclusion of Hastings' vision, it's the prototype for it.

I thought about watching the E3 stuff, but there's a Gorillaz concert on live stream on right now.

Gimme five more bucks for another roll and I swear it'll work. This spell crits on 19!!

Normally I'd believe that I would adjust to the new system like I have all the other new systems. But I have seen websites switch over to Kinja before, and every time I have tried to keep using them, and every time I have failed.

"Character takes the obvious solution that doesn't add anything to our understanding of them" isn't a brilliant ending, it's dull, and only has value as a choice in terms of its

Hasn't what?

I liked the movie. It was good but not great, but I'm not on-board the Gal Gadot train. She certainly didn't hurt the material, but I don't think that she particularly elevated it at all either.

And despite (or maybe because of) its lyrical pettiness, the Dumont-associated “Swish Swish”—the ’90s house-referencing, Fatboy Slim-sampling, Nicki Minaj-featuring single believed to be an allusion to her ongoing feud with fellow backlash-prone pop star Taylor Swift—is, grudgingly, an irresistible dance jam.

One thing I found interesting reading about this election is the fact that Britain almost never does minorities. This is something that I should have realized as a corollary to the fact that they have so many coalitions, but somehow that lightbulb never turned on.

If you want to learn more about @homerbert:disqus 's discussion of the British media's treatment of Corbyn, I recall that this paper by the LSE's media studies department is quite good.

one of the fun wrinkles of the British system is that the Prime Minister is still technically a regular member of Parliament

I'm sure the DUP demanding that Northern Ireland get no special status in Brexit will be great for the stability of their wee country. And I'm sure this will be wonderful for restoring Stormont.
