general public is not very money savvy and you also have a lot of families that are well off and can say “oh f*ck it” at an extra $10k as they really like the car ...because Jonses... and they won’t care if they’re upside down on it later. 

Unless you are getting out of a lease or you were in a car crash and absolutely have to get a new car I would avoid it completely. Its just a bad idea right now.
