@metermaid: Stick with it. The Wire season 2 is arguably the worst of all five seasons (I still love it, but it's a big let down from the awesomeness of season 1). But season 3 is excellent and season 4 mind blowingly good (and heartbreaking) - I think without exaggeration, the best season of television I've ever

@ElphabaSkywalker: Co-signed. If we're not ACTUALLY friends, I don't want us to be fb friends. I try to keep my list really small - which is counter to what many other people I know do - which seems to be amassing a massive number of people you've met once or heard about or something - how is this not annoying

@Omitofo: She was on Firefly? I'm drawing a total blank...?

@faithdarwin: How about just seeing him standing next to Peggy was hilarious.

@TadpoleAngel: YES! How was this not mentioned in the write up? I thought the both holding hands was kind of funny and cute, but then I was shocked when Don kissed her full on the mouth.

@eadubbs: Oh yeah, that was great. And his expression at realizing he'd done it. Excellent.

@ramalamadingdong: I cannot get enough of Hoyt and Jessica. I love Hoyt but I realized last night it's really more about what a girl crush I have on Jessica.

I mean now they're just fucking with us.

@la.donna.pietra: Well, I mean everything comes from something...right? There are many influences in this book (and most books - and the idea of a "games" is not exactly revolutionary). But I did feel like Hunger Games and Battle Royale are too similar not to give credit to BR for significant inspiration at a

@CC: Yeah, I prefer Battle Royale, if only in an "it came first" kind of way, but I loved THG.

@solaana: Yeah, I'd say Battle Royale meets Running Man...but The Road is a good comparison too for the dystopian aspects.

@kerrington.steele: Yeah, it's totally Battle Royale meets Running Man...but it's really good. Very well done. It feels like it takes inspiration from both (heavily but appropriately) but it really builds it's own great stuff as well. I was pretty much riveted.

I'm not trying to diss Hunger Games (because I loved it and read it in one day) and I think the comparison to reality TV is interesting and relevant...but I'm shocked to see no mention of Battle Royale in this post.
