@Jen Chappell: Well...while she did wear a skirt at different times, she's been wearing the strapless swimsuit for a long time now...like more than 20 years (with a couple redesign jaunts along the way that never lasted). Not saying she can't be taken seriously in a skirt, just that she hasn't worn one with any

@girlarchaeologist: Yeah, the Jamie McKelvie design is not only beautiful and modern and clean lined but it would have fit stylistically I think with the temporary reboot in which Diana would need more "street wear" appropriate duds and wouldn't have much if any Amazonian influence to her costume. McKelvie's design

@mordicai: Apparently she's been somewhat depowered...or doesn't have access to all her powers in this new (temporary) reboot though, so, though I hate it from a design sense, some of the choices make sense. She also has no real Amazon history as I understand it in the reboot, which is why that aspect is also absent

@Helen Valentine: Yeah, someone upthread said it looked like Rogue and Gambit's lovechild. Which is hilariously dead on.

@Catladypants: lol. Lasso of truth. But wallet chain might better fit this look.

@LutherNipperkin: Exactly. Even if you like it (I don't, but everyone has different tastes and that's fine) how does it say Wonder Woman? It doesn't. :(

Um...it's great that she's no longer in a strapless swimsuit bustier, but this is not a great re-design. There's nothing iconic or lasting about it. How does a look like this compare with Batman or Superman (which is where she should be)...those are instantly iconic images...this...not so much.

@agsine: I STILL want to be a giraffe!

@PortraitHat: I found you to be TOTALLY coherent. And agree wholeheartedly.

@raphaela: I hope your son is able to retain the beautiful mind he has...because it is BEAUTIFUL. It's also the kind of story that makes me think I really should have kids...as this would make my day, week, month...year.

@yrcherrybomb: Good point about characterization beyond original purpose.

@1979semifinalist: Yeah...re-reading this piece again I find myself disagreeing with most of it...I mean...yes, I would love it if there were more female protagonist toys, but what they did was still quite good and using Bonnie was a stroke of genius that pushes this in a definitively female positive direction. I

@kaywinnitlee: Agreed. Though we could have had more female positivity on the toy front, I thought Bonnie was a great character, and a brilliant choice for them to not only have that character be a young girl instead of a young boy, but also to have her play in a way that was just incredibly creative rather than

I can't really disagree with much of this...but didn't Barbie only fake being a traitor in order to execute her part of the master escape plan - i.e. distracting Ken?

@Ixion: Oooh! Yes, definitely!

@Understater: Definitely second the Julianne Moore and Laura Linney love. I love Cruz and Weisz but I'm not sure they fit the requirements as well as I'd like.

Rachel McAdams? Really? The bootleg Parker Posey is backlash proof? Not in my house. That said...it seems unfair that Drew (who I love) gets listed twice. I'd put Kate Winslet in place of McAdams and give Emma Thompson Drew's second spot...she only really needs the one. :)

@curiousgeorgiana: Yeah, I definitely think it's the snooping newbie vamp (Franklin?). And what does it mean that Sookie's name is circled on a family tree in Bill's drawers...not to mention all the stalker-y photos and clippings...creepy...I sense trouble in paradise...I mean, more so than every other day.
