“I am unable to read. How the hell am I even using a computer?!”

Excellent article Mr. Wetzel! A clear-eyed and informative analysis of the facts on the ground, without any political posturing or unfounded leaps of logic or speculation. This is what FA needs more of.

Thanks for tweets, something to think about.

There are types of disagreement that aren’t trolling, but go ahead and throw that softball for the peanut gallery.

Thankfully Tyler is still writing for thedrive. This place has been going downhill ever since he left.

You can still read Tyler Rogoway’s stuff if that’s what you prefer. He has carried on in much the same manner at his new blog spot.

You understand the ‘auto-recommend’ is not some kind of conspiracy, right? It is a robotic algorithm which recommends articles for you, based on which articles you clicked on. You seemed to have clicked on lots of Putin and Trump articles.

You are literally the first person I’ve ever heard refer to Tyler as an idiot. It’s not about which side of the political spectrum the articles are on, it’s the fact they are here at all.

So glad to see factory parts used here. Difficult repairs (and critical parts) demand it. Neighbor cheaped out on a replacement starter for his Northstar Caddy (starter located in much the same place as the Lexus) and got to do that whole shitty job over again 6 months later.

Hey teens, I’m happy to say that Peter, the Practical Enthusiast who authored that monster 300ZX build thread a while back, will be on Jalopnik more these days. Get ready to follow more adventures in successful, competent vehicle repair!

You mean the thing I drive around off-road in and occasionally throw dirty and worn things into the bed of, and also get my muddy, work-booted self into is not appointed with wood burl and alcantara leather? That its simple and effective suspension occasionally leaves me feeling more of the road than a Mercedes? Well

They called the Taco “primitive”. I prefer a primitive truck, and I don’t think I am the only one.

None of those are nearly as fuel efficient as the Mitsu. And the Mirage has a 10/10,000 powertrain warranty.

Do not ever recommend that someone buy a Fiesta for reliable transportation unless they are buying a manual one. The DCTs in these are garbage.

Right now my local dealer is offering up to 4k in rebates on the Mirage (I just checked) now you’re looking at a 6-7k car with a 10 year 100,000 mile warranty. That doesn’t mean much to us on this site, but for a lot of people that makes a lot of difference.

I think it’s hilarious that Velocity find this show “too difficult to make”, yet when Wheeler Dealers started, the budget for both the cars and for production were much more modest. Mike Brewer already had TV chops but Edd was almost afraid of the camera. Yet it worked. And it didn’t seem too “difficult” to make

I’m from England so I’ve been watching it since it started on the BBC. I didn’t really care for the last two series as they started spending too much money. The whole point was buy low, spend a little and improve. Sell at small, if slightly pointless profit (man hours are not calculated as a cost).

THIS is my Top Gear. This was the show I discovered over a decade ago and of which immediately fell in love with every aspect. I don’t think it’s hyperbole to extend the notion that Edd’s THE best overall mechanic gearhead TV personality (Love Mike Brewer as well of course) out now particularly because he doesn’t come

Edd China is the backbone of that show. It is a better car show than anything else I’ve seen. So many of the shows skip all the detail of installing parts, and instead become just advertisements for aftermarket parts. They never show the mechanics struggling with a rusted nut, or trying to wiggle a part out from
