New parents and you’re considering buying a Volvo without a warranty? I don’t think you’ve thought your cunning plan all the way through.

1st Gear: “The folks that are struggling right now, it’s going to be a real challenge when they need a new car. “
“Car dealerships are basically the most useless actors in the galaxy of cars but they persist thanks to franchise laws and the powerful pull of lobbyists.”
You think that car manufacturers don’t want dealerships?
I’m glad a scored a great deal on a car that no one wanted - purchased a base 2018 Sportwagen in April of 2019. Hopefully it will get me through the next 10+ years or the pending apocalypse, whatever happens first.
The bigger the government agency, the less accountable they are for spending other people’s money, and the less common sense is involved and the more is wasted. This is almost universally true and not debatable.
This really has nothing to do with police. This is just big government doing what big government has always done, and will always do... spend other peoples money.
The same thing the Des Moines, Iowa PD was when they bought Zero electric motorcycles. They cost 4 times that of a Suzuki DR with a 10th the range. Just boosting public image, last I checked they never use them.
I think this guy might be the seller. He’s just hoping to make up for his taste.
As much as I would love to piss on the police about this, this also smells like environmentalists who have the idea that we can replace traditional gas-powered cop cars, that idle a lot, with electric vehicles and save the planet. So they convince the city council to appropriate money specifically for electric cars,…
That’s the exact problem that I have with EVs. The batteries are too damn expensive, and there isn’t any aftermarket support to bring that cost down.
I tried to find the survey referenced, but couldn’t find it on the Autotrader UK site. The only thing I found was in March 2019 75% of “car buyers” were considering an EV. The quoted line in this article says “consumers” were surveyed in January with 16% “planning to buy” and in August down to 4% “considering”. I…
Can you guys fix whatever is going on with the comments feature? Its seriously fucked up. They load erratically, sometimes not at all, sometimes partially.
Yup. If only the government could step in and make MPG restrictions so high the automakers are FORCED to make electric cars so those silly, stupid citizens can do what the enlightened leaders know is right.
You can’t compare the cost of ownership of an EV to a truck with a 90 mile commute, unless your EV is also a truck. You need to compare the EV to a comparable car in its size segment.
Just paint it orange with a confederate flag on the roof. Have the horn play dixie!😂
Oh, get out of here with this bullshit. Show me a major political movement that hasn’t done this repeatedly for the last - since recorded history. The party you happen to currently disapprove of most doesn’t have a monopoly on it.
Everything is click bait with likes and hits. We don’t live in a good time at all.
All those rotting jeeps? Yeah, Obama’s fault. And... Thanks Trump. (lol)
I actually don’t really care either way. If anything, I get enjoyment out of seeing people complain about it in the comments.
