I can assure you I will never buy anything from VAG. Not only because they more or less got away with cheating on their diesels but also because at the end of the day they still make crappy, unreliable products that they slap the whole “German engineering” label all over.

This is another one of those “near-trucks” where it looks kinda like a truck buts really just an SUV with a small box glued to the back. Even if they do make this there’s no way I’d ever buy one given VW’s typical reliability issues.

If you want a truck... go buy a used Tacoma, ranger, F150 or something...

I really hate SUVs... that said, nice job Lincoln. Makes up for the continental

I don’t understand why this is so difficult for GM to understand: build the cars we as car lovers like. The concepts they show are clearly the right direction. So start there and build the damned cars.

Probably a fair assessment. I’m old enough ( 40's ) where cars overheating were almost sort of a “normal” thing... as in more of annoyance. That versus anything made today where if the engine overheats its generally life-ending for the said engine...

Yes, I suppose I should have been more exacting but I figured people would get it anyway. The 302 in my mercury is also entirely made of iron and at one point I somehow stuck the thermostat in backwards, causing it to overheat. Didn’t do a thing to it either. The important part is to make sure that the pressure relief

Those old cast iron engines will take serious abuse. I mentioned this yesterday but I followed a friend home who bought a 73 Cadillac. The temp gauge wasn’t working. About 20 miles from where we started it suddenly blew a HUGE cloud of steam. We pulled over and coasted into a gas station where the car more or less

Whatevas. I think we understand each other now

That guy is absolutely redlining that engine, which isn’t good for any engine, especially in longer intervals like that.

I don’t understand why people do this kind of shit to their cars. Not only does it ruin the tires but also puts a huge amount of stress on the drivetrain often leading to internal damage.

Does it matter? Somehow he is still the president despite the giant laundry list of things that “should” have results in his impeachment and removal from office.

My super generic and overly glossed over answer about vehicle prices is that yes- the prices have gotten kind of out of whack.

Short answer? She’s just as batshit crazy as her husband.

Oh man... my bad. But in seriousness his car is HUGE! I have a 55' Mercury Monterey 4 door and its a good 18 feet long but his, which is a 2 door measures close to 21 feet long.

I live in California and I don’t think its considered hazardous waste either. It that I had like 4-5 full trash bags full of oilo-soaked paper towels and you can’t just throw the stuff away. The car parts store that recycles oil wouldn’t take it either. But the hazardous waste drop off did.

Its not a big deal. You just overheated. Probably its a stuck thermostat, possibly clogged from all the shit that broke loose in the coolant system after sitting for so long. This happened to me 5 months ago: A friend of mine bought a 74' Caddy Eldorado. It too dramatically overheated and popped the safety valve on

Only problem is that we live blocks from the ocean and all of the drainwater goes right into the sea. So I wouln’t feel great about having a gallong of oil going down the drain...

Too late dumbasses, the story is out now and threatening this woman with more letters won’t do shit.

I do. And I’m reminded about once a year when I do a deep cleaning of the interior and find the nasty little collection of old dried up boogers under the seat.

The spilled oil brought back a painful memory for me. So my wife and I bought a house- our first- 6 years ago. We had just moved in when it was time to change the oil in my truck, which I’ve done every time for 22 years. Anyway ... long story short I somehow wound up dropping the used oil container in the short, paved
