OTOH there are probably folks who live elsewhere who wouldn’t mind having some of cars and trucks here in the US. Humans are predisposed to want what they cannot have.
They aren’t that cheap here either and I literally live 20 miles from the factory. They are around $75,000 for the stripped down version, $135,000 for the fully loaded model with the performance package. I imagine that there’s some kind of import tax over there and so that probably means that they cost roughly the…
I have a friend from the UK and he talks about how that they have a “VAT” tax on vehicles with larger engines as well. So it sounds that the same is true in Germany. And so now that makes more sense as to why these are selling decently there.
It barely has any Mercedes parts. I looked it up and its basically a couple of switches and the shift stalk...
Well... it helps that its basically the only all-electric, long range electric luxury car you can buy. I know absolutely nothing about their market but do they have big import tariffs? Does the government there give buyers big incentives? I’m just curious as to why its selling well there. Granted I live in the San…
Those were some of the most reliable GM cars of that era. I knew quite a few who owned these with well over 200,000 miles with hardly an issue.
I know this isn’t really fair... But Trump Jr looks just as stupid as he acts. I mean- look at that face. It looks like its made out of molded plastic. His expression is of someone who probably has no soul.
Que the comments about “ B-B-But GM and their ignition issues!!”
I find this ALL horribly depressing. There is a goddamned literal semi truck worth of shit that this admin, Trump, and his associates and even family members have done that in ordinary times would lead to swift and assured legal action. I mean just yesterday like what? His lawyer paid off a porn star- more or less…
Its from an American company-aka- GM owned Opel, Vauxhall and whatever is left of Holden. Many of GM’s products use drivetrains, designs and platforms developed around the world. The Ecotec engines used in these were developed in both the US and the EU. So too were many other aspects of it and the platform it rides…
Its time to make changes to the 2nd amendment. At this point guns in the US have become more of a public safety menace than as a form of protection. I was dumbfounded to find out on the morning news that this latest school shooting is the 18th- yes- the EIGHTEENTH school shooting in 2018 alone.
Since 1968 more…
Why would you do that? Its like... should I stick a Ford badge on my Toyota?
See, that’s whats great about used Caddys in general: All of the performance and none of the foo-foo cache’ of a BMW. Result? You can get a hell of a nice car for a whole lot less.
Yeah... I’d say blow torches and 70+ year old bombs don’t really go well together.
It can and has happened. Old explosives like these are particularly dangerous as the passage of time and exposure to moisture makes them very sensitive.
Well... the way I’ve been able to tolerate it is that my office lets me work from home 2 days a week and get in and leave early. That and by sheer luck we bought our house during the recession and so the mortgage is actually a lot less than renting. Otherwise the cost of living here is about the same as everywhere…
I am originally from the South and moved to Massachusetts for college. The first year was a total blast. We never had snow and in the area I was in it snowed feet at a time. I actually loved the snow and even using a snow shovel.
I don’t do any snowboarding so I’m not really familiar with snow differences. But Tahoe gets more snow than just about anywhere else in the country and has long been a world class destination for skiing and snowboarding. I actually avoid that area as its usually a total clusterfuck this time of year.
I live in California because within an hour and a half or less of where I live I can:
