Yeah, plus it even looks like a box, thus even more pertinent

I wouldn’t care if it has 1,000 HP. It looks like shit.

I’m trying to decide what to do about mine when it finally gets to be too worn-out. Maybe a sort of shrine. Or maybe just the occasional garbage hauler. Its kind of nice when a truck gets to start not looking that great physically thus chucking firewood and whatever is less a deal if you accidentally make a new dent

There isn’t a single thing Nissan produces these days that I am even remotely interested in. All of their models look stale or uninspired. So its time for a new CEO for sure and stepping down was probably a wise move.

I grew up in the South- the deep rural south and got so fucking tired of that god-damned flag. Not a single person I knew who flew it was a decent person. BTW, I’m a white guy with a thick southern drawl. Nothing would make be happier than to burn every single confederate flag in existence. It is a symbol of hatred

Something something its an ugly car something something smartass response.

then get an AMG that doesn’t look like a whale then.

Its actually a lot of people’s opinions. As in people who don’t really like ugly cars sort of don’t like this thing. No seriously- I cannot believe there are some of you here who like this.... Oh well.

I guess I see your point and if you buy one of these the kiddies will probably enjoy watching TV at the local Mercedes repair shop, which will be a frequent occurence if its like most other Mercedes products.

So yes- you agree you see it as being kind of ugly, like as in sort of like a Beluga whale on wheels?

I see a big bloated looking thing that sort of reminds me of a full diaper or something. And as far as its “hand built” aspects, that won’t be near as charming when you have to take the thing to get it fixed repeatedly.

Get a Honda Odyssey or Toyota Sienna or even a Dodge minivan. At least those really and truly say “ hey I’m a minivan and that’s ok.” Versus whatever this thing is: “ Hey I’m an ugly Mercedes thing with a big slouchy ass.”

What exactly do you see that I don’t because all I ever think of when I see one of these things is that its a really, really ugly looking vehicle.

Yeah, they were not made to withstand accidents... even mine, a 96' model got like a 2 star rating back then. But the thing is that when the tacoma came out Toyota stuck fairly large engines in them. Mine is a 2.4 liter 4 banger and given that the truck is so lightweight its surprisingly fast. Very easy to

Well, former Tennessean here and believe it or not it sometimes snows. And in parts of the state it rains... A LOT.

I enjoyed the article too. Not so much because of the car because let’s be real here: the car is actually sort of a rust bucket. What I did appreciate was the sentiment for keeping it for that long. Maybe because I “get it”.

I grew up in a rural Southern area. Most of the neighbors lives in trailers. We lived in an actual house and so I felt that we must have been rich. Mom was a school teacher. Dad was in and out of work. We would sell things at flea markets and various country fairs. I thought it was fun as hell.

The first van looks remarkably similar to a Ford Econoline of the era ( minus the front )

These things have more or less replaced what Cadillac was in the 50's. Big, ridiculous and expensive. I would dearly love to see what the average person who buys one of these $60-80k makes in income because my money would be that they probably shouldn’t be blowing their cash on these things.

Back when I was a kid our family’s 150+ year old cemetary which is located well out in the middle of nowhere Tennessee was vandalized. Grave stones were broken and pushed over. Some graves were dug up. Even though this happened some 25 years ago to this day I find it an unbelievably disgusting thing to do. It shook my
