Yes... But retooling is expensive and if we're heading into a recession again then I highly doubt a company would choose to retool a truck plant to make small cars after shifting that work to Mexico.

The grill looks awful. Otherwise , yes- great looking car

The current Taurus is actually very good. But Murican’s want there big ass trucks and SUVs and big cars are not selling well at all, which is a shame since cars like the new Malibu and Taurus are better than they’ve ever been.

No.1: And yet another shortsighted decision. Of course things are great now in that so-called “Lucrative” truck and SUV segment... until the economy crashes, which it already seems to be doing as we speak. Then people will stop buying those and there you go...

My argument is pretty simple. They cheated. They cheated where others chose not to. And thus if you don’t agree then I must assume you think cheating is all fine and dandy.

Its less to do with people buying big-ass trucks and more to do with that trucks these days have become. When I was a kid the only people who bought trucks were farmers, contractors, plumbers and other people who actually needed a truck to haul things with. And what you got was a basic machine with no whistles and

My Grandad had one of these. It also had a 5.0 liter engine. I recall it seldom left the garage as he was so proud of it. On rare occasions he’d let me take it to the gas station. That thing would haul ass, which at the time was amazing to me. A big brick like thing on wheels that could burn rubber.

That’s not the point. I don’t care if your VW TDI or frankly any other vehicle sold in the US emits either XXX or XXX amounts of emissions. The fact is that we have set standards that all automakers are required to meet and VW intentionally engineered equipment to cheat those standards and that’s reason enough for

That’s the very first thing I thought of too. I can’t imagine what the centrifugal force of having the engine all the way to that far side would do to the car’s handling abilities

Isn’t this the era of Audi where the transmissions would suddenly go unexpectedly into reverse?

And here comes the AM radio redneck comments

He needs to lose the neck beard.

As a kid I never had a damned clue what that noise was supposed to be.

The best wagons had the seats facing the rear. When I was a kid a neighbor had a 80' Chevy Caprice wagon with rear facing seats and a power window. One day we went to the store and me and the neighbor’s kid bought a bag of rubber bouncy balls. We sat in the back seat and once we got on the freeway rolled the window

I agree with much of what you had to say. What I was more alluding to was that at least here in the US, I have seen the same thing happen over and over again. Gas prices drop, the economy improves and people got out and buy the biggest vehicles they can and the carmakers are naturally eager and willing to make what

Uhh.... I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t have been standing there with a camera.

It looks like any number of other GM crossovers currently sold in the U.S. This would bring a competing model to the U.S. Market which would be a bad idea.

Most of the time I ever see a full sized truck or SUV it’s in the burbs being driven by one person and never used for real work. I grew up in the sticks where people who drive trucks drove beat up pieces of shit trucks. Not these fluffy things that pass as trucks today. 99 percent of the time those suburban dwelling

Yup. I’m sure many tahoes will run for many happy miles. But collectively not as many as your average Toyota, which is why toyotas are ranked higher in long term reliability over GM. Not neccesarily knocking tahoes. They are t as good as Toyota trucks though, sorry...

No, no, and no.
