I commute every day to and from my job in Silicon Valley from the East Bay ( 30 miles ) the commute takes me around an hour in the morning, 1.5 in the afternoon. AWFUL. The reason the commute is so bad is because all of the jobs are either there or in San Francisco and both of those places are insanely expensive

Over engineered to me means sticking more stuff in a given device than neccesary. Less parts= less potential for part failure. I’ve worked on my fair share of cars and trucks and when it comes to stuff like what VW makes its a totally different experience. A perfect and simply example is changing the oil. My Tacoma

The GLI is boring

Over engineered isn’t cutting edge. It’s just overly complicated for no real purpose. Perfect example is my mother on law’s Jetta TDI wagon. The coolant reservoir tank has like 12 damned parts. My Toyota truck? 4. Do when you design cars with that many more parts shit breaks down more often.

My brother owns a 2014 Subaru outback. It's basically a big ass SUV that sorta kinda looks like a wagon. But not much. Americans like SUVs and SUVs with gritty sounding names. Not some weird ass SUV with some name like Tiguan or whatever else VW names things.

Because it's a lot less fun spending loads of time at the garage. I kid you not that last week a friend of mine had the key get stuck in his newish passat. The car would not turn off so off to the dealer he went. Besides- it's not like the Jetta is exciting either when compared to a new corolla.

Perhaps if they want to sell more cars in the US they could first get rid of that obnoxious tag line: “ the power of German engineering”. It wouldn’t be any different than if an American car company sold cars in Germany with some sort of equally obnoxious tag line like Buy Murican... Cuz.. Murica!

I rode for 7 years. That video scared the shit out of me.

Sorry, but that’s ridiculous money. What is $1,000 about this? Its a freakin’ piece of vinyl covered structural foam, right? My whole 55’ Mercury cost $2,000 12 years ago and I was quoted around around $2,400 if I wanted to get the whole interior done.

The article was pretty vague and the statement was overly generalized.... “ Only German Manufactures are clever enough to make classic parts blah blah blah”. That’s the issue I had and as seen- OEM or not- No- its not just German manufactures ( Manufactures as in that could mean Bosch- whom makes parts in many

Only German manufacturers seem to be clever enough to realize that recreating old parts to keep those classics on the road is a very good business that’s also beneficial for their brand image.

I HATE crap like this. Mainly because there is so clearly a Miata stuck in there and that’s all I see since such a poor job was done in disguising it. To me this is every bit as bad as those awful reproduction cars that used a 90’s-2000’s Ford Thunderbird ( I forgot whatever name it was )

I always thought the Tiburon looked pretty cruddy even when new. That was back when Hyundai was still trying to figure things out and get away from their cheap car image. The result to me looked sort of like a toy. A bit better, but still pretty plasticy and cheap looking.

2nd gear:

There's no way I would actually feel confident buying and owning anything made by VW group.

My mother in law owns a Jetta TDI made in Germany. It’s “quality” has been similar to other VW products...

country of manufacture isn’t the problem. Its the quality of the engineering at fault on these cars.

I have a really good friend who actually grew up in Germany and simply loves VW’s and Audis. I can respect that. But anyway he has a newish Jetta. One day we drive to a bar and he literally tells me that the car was all about German engineering. The next week the car would not shut off and had to be driven to the

Just looked up some prices. Unless what I read was wrong this car will cost over 200k. That’s twice as much as a Tesla and so Tesla has nothing to worry about. That and since VW group can’t even make powered windows that function properly I can’t imagine an entire electric Audi. Then again Teslas are made just down the

I don’t watch NASCAR but I’m sorry, I’m not buying that she... “Forgot”...
