Sparco Pista wheels - in all fairness, they are a 15x6.5" since I went a bit narrower for winter wheels.

Yes please!! Nothing better than going back and watching older episodes every now and then.
Just to throw my hat into the ring I ran Forgestar F14s on one of my previous cars (Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8) and I tracked it probably 5-6 times with those wheels and never had an issue. They were also my daily wheels. I had fairly sticky rubber (Bridgestone Potenza RE11) and a heavier car than the S2k as well.
“Engine from a Taurus” is a bit of a farce. Yeah, it’s a V6 but it’s been developed for years in a proper racing trim in a Daytona Prototype in IMSA. It’s not like you can buy a Cobb tune for your Taurus and end up with the same engine as the GT.
First off, “irregarldess isn’t a word”.
Ok so yeah, I get what you’re saying - it’s something. It may be better than other kit cars out there. But you can’t really compare this to track day specials like Caterhams, those actually have well-designed roll bars. No, those may not fare all that well in an accident on the street, but they aren’t designed for…
Seriously? As an engineer in the audience, I shudder at the thought of getting in a crash with this thing. That “cage” appears to be nothing more than a bunch of randomly placed tubes welded together in a mediocre fashion. The main hoop has no diagonal, and those A-pillar bars will do nothing in a rollover. Not to…
Recaro seats or not? I’m surprised that your right arm is hitting the seat bolster.... those are pretty heavily bolstered seats (the Recaros), but they’re also fairly narrow.
Straight from the article:
Huh, I haven’t seen “warrantee” much, but being in the auto industry, it’s disappointing to see so many people spell it “warrenty”.
They do, but there’s a decent amount of movement before it actually locks. Not to mention that it holds your chest, and your head/neck is still going to move forward. Even if you didn’t hit your steering wheel dead on, it wouldn’t be good for your neck/spine to snap forward and back again.
Without an airbag, even while wearing seatbelts, in a low speed collision your head can still hit the steering wheel...
Uhh... exact same chassis? How do you figure? One’s a B-sized car, one’s C-sized.
Honestly, if everything Elon says turns out to be true, as in $35k pricing, 215+ mile range, 0-60 under 6 seconds, etc... I will buy one and not give a single care to how the trunk opens. Plus, it’s still got a frunk. And backseats to store stuff.
ST came with DOT4 from the factory? Either way, something other than the stock fluid would be good. Here’s what I’ve used:
I’ve generally used ATE superblue, although I think it’s no longer blue (something to do with regulations). Honestly, any decent DOT 5 fluid should be fine. You can check specs online to see what the boiling point is for different fluids as well.
Oh Grattan is definitely the best for track days. Enjoy with the FoST, make sure to upgrade your brake fluid though!! Otherwise you will boil it...
That is still “hiding” the change though. It should be standard procedure that if something changes on a part (especially once it’s in production!), the part number gets changed. It may not have been malicious, but technically the change was still hidden.
Hahaha you get a star for the perfect use of that gif.
