I'm working on a full-scale spreadsheet to show all the truck variations from all the manufacturers to show the different curb weights for each trim/cab/box/engine combination. Hopefully, I can finish it this weekend...

I'm sorry about that. Seems like you would have been a great engineer. Especially a "get-your-hands-dirty" one that would test his own creations..

It's rough man. I hated (still do) calculus and differential equations. Luckily my job doesn't require it. I was definitely a Physics based engineer. I'd solve the hell out of your acceleration/distance/velocity questions...

Thank goodness I found someone who agrees! Have a Bernie for your time.

Very true. I took a Material Science Minor along with a Bachelors in ME and I like the Minor almost more than the Major. I also worked with the lab on campus responsible for Friction Stir Welding/Processing (FSW/P) both aluminum and steel material.

Been looking for update curb weight stats. thanks for the link. I've said for the past few years that Ford was bloated and needed the weight loss just to stay competitive. It's more impressive that Chevrolet was able to weigh that little with their 2015 6.2 L V8

Don't forget the occasional "squeaky clean" Ford Raptor that tools around Rapid City. And all of that pales in comparison to when the Stock Show comes into town. High priced pickups everywhere...A lot ARE used for horse/cattle hauling, but there are plenty of cowboys that drive them too.

What's your take on warranties when someone is looking at driving over 30,000 miles a year, say a 2014 vehicle? Then, that 100,000 mile warranty is worth a little less than 3 years to you. Still worth it for all the mileage dependent components? and would it be worth it to buy an extended warranty after the factory

He owned a E63 AMG wagon, a Ferrari (that didn't catch fire), a Prius, a Hummer H1, and an imported (legally) Skyline. He confuses tree huggers and bros alike.

Repair? My brother was driving home in our old '82 Silverado in the dark on a country road and we ran over what sounded like a rusted clump of sheet metal. We stopped and I leaned out the check the rear passenger tire. It sounded like when you plug the core out of a valve stem. HIIISSSSSSS!!!!!! We were maybe a half

The Ferd Gee Tee...

Sorry, sir, but I assume you are of the older generation? I AM a Millennial though, by the unfortunate Grace of God (born '91 though, so I'm an Mk 1 Millennial, at least that's what I tell myself). I DO still agree with you 100% though.

Meanwhile, the C-130, B-52, and A-10 guys are hanging out with the Marine and Army guys begging, "Please, can we go with you guys? Pretty please? At least you appreciate us! *sob* ALL WE WANT IS TO BE LOVED!!!"

That moment when you realize that everyone is crucifying for the same thing (which you explained and corrected) because they either are commenting too quickly, or don't read anyone else's comments

My dad's '82 Chevy Silverado had those. They worked no matter what.

Neutral: if this was the same guy who was behind Cash For Clunkers...then

If he is the same guy that was the major push behind Cash For Clunkers......then

Damn. I'm impressed. That's a fine piece of work you have there. I don't know if I could ever bring myself to do the same (I love my indoor furniture) but that sure looks nice. How does the stain and paint hold up against the weather?

Is that a stained and varnished Oak Rack? Cuz GODDAMN that is one sexy piece of equipment....excuse me

Here's the thing about the Tesla Model S: it's a great car. It's luxurious, it's cool, it's fun to drive, it's fast, and it has a center-mounted touchscreen the size of a hockey goal. Seriously: I think my iPhone is big, and then I get inside a Tesla, and I'm reminded that my iPhone is actually the Pierre, South
