Sure. A motor is a machine that provides movement for a vehicle. I can be powered by whatever. Even if it was described as just an “engine car”, that could also describe an electric car, as an engine is defined as a machine that converts power into motion, regardless of how it does it.

Electric motors are much more simple than combustion engines. They also require less maintenance. Going electric is actually simplification. You don’t even need a multi-speed transmission anymore; just a fixed ratio reduction gear.
