I use tags as my notebooks (you just have to create all your tags once, just like adding new notebooks). It's faster and much more flexible for me, and here's why:

I use Feedly on my phone, but not on my PC because it doesn't have a website to read your news like Google Reader — you have to download their Chrome extension, which sits in the background consuming ~50MB of memory even if you're not reading news. For PC go with The Old Reader instead.
