Volvo. with more than 300k miles on the odometer with all original drivetrain parts. also w/ a beaded drivers seat cover.

yeah, more of a cherokee face.

volvo 240 - tried to kill me on the highway when the piece holding the upper seat-belt attachment fell out of it’s place and hit me in the side of my head. Also a week later the brake master cylinder broke but there was dash warning light about it because as the garage told me....the light had actually died. Also it

FINALLY! it has escaped the city.

what fluid might this be?

Ford Focus ST : for the first 15K miles it had this...quirk... where between specifically 3rd and 4th gears while shifting the audio from the Sync audio system would either cut out or the volume would decrease. It was more pronounced the higher the outside temperature was.

an article mentioning reliability and you think JAG is a better option... seriously? like serious seriously?

Is volvo going to ever make an affordable wagon/sedan that continues the 1st learner’s car tradition of the 240? Seriously, more than half my highschool drove 240’s as their first car but current volvo is so divorced from that old affordable simplistic style.

I wish they sold Skoda in north america. It would be nice to have a cheap-ish option that is actually decent and (in my opinion) a bit better looking than VW.

JDM nissan 300z

bad visibility- check

the only thing holding it back.....British engineering.

X for X-TREME.... it’s a terrible attempt to make Acura seem relevant.

What will matter is efficiency because it’ll be a long time before you get access to a gas pump if you’re off-grid. Also, what matters is hauling capability. so a 40+mpg tall wagon could make sense. One of the largest cargo capacities with highest mpg’s is the prius V. If you want something more expensive then there’s

http://thegarage.jalopnik.com/also-based-on-… Based on it’s size: rear engine LS swap eliminating back seat. So you’d have a lightweight composite skinned rear engined V8 east-german supercar. The most insane german-american car....in the world.

YES!!! LS ENGINE SWAP TO THE RESCUE!

I was going by the NYC approved vehicles list where it’s listed as not usable. Good thing to see it’s allowed in other places.

you want a windy narrow road that has occasional lavarock on the sides of the shoulder-free road? try McKenzie pass from Belknap hotsprings to Sisters, OR. Avoid it on the weekends and holidays (bicyclists, RVs) but if you go on a random Monday it’s pure joy. There’s many switchbacks and rapid elevations changes.

I have one too. It also makes it ‘not allowed’ as an uber car because passengers cant access any unlock buttons.

just noticed they moved the lock/unlock buttons to a more logical place than the center console.
