Utterly depressed upvote.

The stage play is much filthier.

I guess maybe it's because I'm Canadian and we have more than two choices, but 'voting for the lesser evil' seems like a no-brainer to me. It's very, very rare that I get to vote for the party, candidate, and leader that I approve of most (which are all covered by one vote).

Ah, thank you. Like I say, it's been a few years.

Except that the Tritons turn out to be behind pretty much everything bad that happened to her, don't they? It's been a while since I saw season 3 so the details are a bit hazy, but I thought Jake Kane's involvement in it back in the day comes into play somehow.

The Beastie Boys. Not just for their dumb-funny lyrics, excellent mixes, and general joie de vivre, but because they were such a great example of how people can change for the better. They started out with a giant inflatable penis on their stages. They ended up calling out the assaults at Woodstock '99 from the MTV

Yeah, I can't decide if I'm going to watch The Incredibles, Monsters Inc., or The Great Muppet Caper this weekend, but it's going to be one of them.

I had forgotten, until re-watching it recently, that "Sabrina" also features a suicide attempt, although a far less harrowing one. Billy Wilder mixed darkness and light better than just about anybody.

Oh man, that production was aces. Can't watch this at work, but must remember to come back to it at home.

Reeve was my first Hollywood crush, as a girl. As Superman he was innocent and funny and yet sexy in a way that I couldn't articulate at that age. Definitely gone too soon.

Yes, but the Democrats also need to grow the fuck up and get out and vote whether they're inspired by the candidate or not. Republicans vote every time. Too many Democrats sit things out, especially the midterms, while waiting for stirring rhetoric with a symphony soundtrack.

Yeah, a lot of people thought his marriage was the first step in that direction. I'd like to think he wouldn't be stupid enough to go for president on his first try, at least.

I prefer him as a poet than as a musician, myself.

With Disqus accounts, yes. With AVC legacy accounts they can't be.

I was in my second year of university and about to take a gap year full of drunken shenanigans. So all of you can get off my lawn. (But yes, returning to that sounds great, right now.)

I remember when Adam Yauch and Duck Dunn died within a couple of months of each other, I was like "Has anyone checked on Bootsy Collins? Is he eating his veggies?"

::whimpers::

Okay, now I'm imagining that being her sign-off, like "Courage" or "And that's the way it is." Wordy, but apt!

If Trump manages, with a law or an initiative or whatever, to create some long-term, high-paying, full-time-with-benefits-and-pensions jobs, preferably in an industry that's not too environmentally damaging, I will be happy to applaud.

Being a Canadian without cable, I don't get to see Maddow much, but I did see the clip of her saying "You're awake, by the way. You're not having a nightmare and you're not dead and in hell." I assume that was from election night?
