They couldn’t. They intended to, but zoologists around the country pleaded with them to reconsider. Animals simply cannot live in those conditions. They’d be dying like flies.

It is not seaworthy. By any stretch of the imagination. That’s simple physics. The longer a beam, the lesser its strength. They tested the upper limits of wooden ships in the Victorian era with six-masted schooners. Even with steel framing, they weren’t strong enough. They were leaky as hell - pumps had to be run…
And modern building materials, like steel supports, steel bolts, and Tyvek sheets. Because - and you’re not going to believe this - they can’t really use all wood and peg construction! It’s not strong enough.
I, for one, am shocked - SHOCKED! - that Fox News would have such a corporate culture.
I was telling my husband this story last night, having a grand old time mocking her colonialist White Savior fantasies. “Hashtag #TakeUpYourAngelHairBurden” and he kept circling back to that resort eviction. “But yeah... What did she do to get kicked out of that first resort? I mean, you’d think these folks have to…
My grandmother used to use coarsely ground corn meal for this purpose. She took care of some bed-bound old ladies. In between washes, she would rub corn meal into their hair and scalp to absorb all the oils, then comb/brush carefully to remove it all.
It pisses me off every time Palin opens her stupid cakehole to yammer on about the Founders because - like literally every other subject - she knows jack shit about them, their motivations, or what is actually in that document she so fervently claims to love.
Gee, it seems the ‘invisible hand of the market’ does sometimes improve the planet after all!
I’m sure she means by sharing Facebook posts on your family’s profiles, or putting a sticker on the family SUV. That’s pretty much as politically active as her ilk usually gets...
I think she may be the kind of “spice” sold by that sketchy gas station down near the railroad tracks, next to the rack of roses in glass pipes, Chore Boy, and CO cartridges.
Her goal all along was the attention/sympathy she’d get from the boy’s suicide. After his death, her focus was on making sure she got the credit for the “charity” drives in her boyfriend’s honor. She was worried when the boy’s best friend started inviting people from the boy’s home town to her charity events because…
She did. She talked him into it. Badgered him about when he was going to do it. Talked him out of his doubts. Told him what equipment to buy and where to go so he wouldn’t be discovered. And then when he freaked out because he felt the carbon dioxide working, she told him to get back in the truck and finish it.
I don’t blame her lawyer, really. He has a shitty case and has to really reach in order to try and zealously defend a client who is clearly guilty as hell. If the evidence is damning, you try anything you can to get it thrown out.
Not severely ill at all! Just so still he can’t be bent to sit in a car seat. I mean, that happens all the time with a cold, right?
Does she realize how much of an advantage the US gets from its de facto leadership?
My mom bought the book of an author I know, and she cried like she’d lost a friend when she read it. I was over at her house and we were reading together on the porch swing. The whole thing shook with the force of her sobs.
... the FUCK?
I’m no pedia-fucking-trician, but if the kid is too stiff to stuff in their car seat, I’m taking that as a sign it ain’t a goddam cold.
Ah, Jon Snow, once again, you know nothing. This time, it’s about leading an army. “Get pissed and rush in,” is never a great tactic, especially when it’s well-established the enemy has greater numbers and an entrenched position.
Well, this would be a massive expense. Not only installing the systems in sometimes-crumbling buildings which weren’t made for it (including asbestos abatement, etc.) but also the cost of running and maintaining the systems. If air conditioning is deemed a human right, the state is facing a huge expense in every…
