I know Forbes (or someone similar) had an article ‘best foreign countries to retire’ and Costa Rica appealed to me for some reason.

No significant other but the family members I live with are away which means I have Glastonbury festival on the TV (LOUD) and a cider in hand, I’ve had a vegan dinner and I’ve been naked a lot of the day.

My new roommates have both moved in. They both seem very nice and I haven’t had to call 911 yet so we’re way ahead of the last one. There are some growing pains with rearranging everything. I’ve lived alone for over a year and before that there was just two of us so three people is quite a change. Also I’m not totally

That sounds amazing! I wish I could move to another country, I just need to find a place like Norway, minus the cold weather and sun setting issues. My parents retired in their early 50s because of my dad’s health, and they had a great time traveling to all the weird places in Florida.

Thank you so much! I'm excited about the adventure!

All I can say to this is that my grandfather retired at an age that was considered absurdly young at the time. He had a whole second career as an artist, none of it was for money, all for love. If you can, embrace it and be open to anything else that comes along and catches your attention. Panama and Peru sound

I’m so sorry for your loss. Sending you love

Great that the age setting change has worked out...I was one of the people who suggested changing it so I’m pleased to have the update!

I’m so very sorry for your loss. Please remember to take care of yourself amongst your grief. ❤️❤️❤️

I’m so, so, sorry about your Mom. Suicide prevention hotlines also offer support to those who have lost loved ones to suicide. Please consider contacting them. Whatever you need to do right now is ok. Sending you love.

No helpful personal experience I’m afraid. Just sending lots of support. A day at a time is good, a minute at a time might be how it is for a while. One deep breath after another. Every feeling you feel is valid and appropriate.

I lost my mom to suicide a week ago. She was a brilliant, wonderful, and frustrating person. She was a doctor who saved thousands of lives, but she couldn’t save her own — she struggled with mental illness for a long time, and tried literally every treatment she could. Ultimately, she lost the battle. I’m most worried

Grade C - too obviously eager for ANY attention

As a 6 foot tall, not small black dude, I’ve learned that unless I’m wearing a suit and smiling, some white person somewhere is gonna be uncomfortable with my mere presence. I have no idea what’s wrong with people like that but there seems to be a lot of them. I have to remind myself sometimes that its their problem,

“I saw their racist things every day but it never bothered me until it affected me. In my head, these people weren’t angry racists. These were my childhood friends. They were like family to me. They were… they were just like me.”

MAGA hat wearing shithead in my neighborhood! Time to get my gun and follow him...

It would need the phrase Feel free to use other side of page, as you will need to”

Again, I have to reiterate that America’s racism isn’t primarily old people.

How about we add this question to the 2020 Census:

Nextdoor is explicitly targeted at middle-aged homeowners, so of course it’s full of prodnoses and small-minded dipshits who think that their house is their castle. It’s what happens when you build an internet community around snitching and bitching.
